Celebrating 30 years in business is more than just a milestone – it’s a testament to our ongoing pursuit of growth and innovation. From humble beginnings in Narangba (QLD) to becoming a trusted provider of industrial equipment solutions across Australia, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific Islands, our story is built on strong partnerships, continuous innovation, and an unwavering commitment to our customers.
In 1995, the business started in Narangba, laying the foundation for what would become Lincom Group. By 1998, we began selling Powerscreen machines in Australia, and in 2000, we expanded our head office to accommodate our growing operations.
Recognising the need for diversification, we took a bold step in 2006 by establishing a Recycling Division, positioning us as leaders in sustainable solutions. The following year, we began offering Morbark equipment, and we were honoured to receive our first After Sales Performance Award from Powerscreen, a testament to our focus on customer support.
Along the way, we’ve partnered with other industry giants – Kiverco, Thor Global, Rapid, Hercules Trommels, McLanahan, MDS, Broadbent, and Action Vibratory Equipment – allowing us to provide our customers with cutting-edge, safe, and efficient equipment.
In 2008, we opened our Ballarat branch (VIC) and received another Powerscreen accolade, the Balanced Scorecard Award. Our achievements continued in 2010 with the Dealer of the Year Award from Morbark, further solidifying our leadership in the market.
Our expansion continued in 2011 with our Unanderra branch (NSW) opening, followed by our venture into New Zealand in 2012.
By 2015 and 2017, we had received multiple awards from Powerscreen and Morbark, and during this time, we relocated our Western Australia branch to larger premises in Henderson, reflecting our continued expansion.
In 2020, we opened a new branch in Hunter Valley (NSW), and the following year, we expanded further by opening a branch in Townsville (QLD). 2021 also saw us certified as a Great Place to Work, and we were finalists in the Bulk Handling Awards with the Thor Global Towerstacker. However, this year was also marked by the loss of our founder, Roy Watterson, which was deeply felt across the entire business.
In 2022, we continued to grow, receiving certification as an Australian-owned business, establishing Lincom WA, and making the decision to sell the New Zealand division. The same year, Roy Watterson was inducted into the Powerscreen Hall of Fame, a fitting tribute to his immense contributions to the industry.
2023 saw even more achievements, including being finalists in the Moreton Bay Business Awards for Marketing Excellence, winning the Powerscreen Regional Dealer of the Year award, and Roy Watterson receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from Australian Mining. We were also certified as a Great Place to Work once again.
Last year, we reached new heights with the opening of our Technical Institute in Narangba and the establishment of a new branch in Adelaide (SA). We were proud finalists in the Supplier of the Year category at the Bulk Handling Awards and saw our CEO, Stephen Watterson, nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year in the Moreton Bay Awards. We also received four Powerscreen awards – Global Dealer of the Year, Global Leader in Marketing, Regional Dealer of the Year – Australia & Asia and Global Leader in Training Engagement. Together, we’re raising the bar and redefining what success looks like.
This year marks the beginning of our partnership with Komptech, expanding our range of waste management solutions. Partnering with a globally renowned manufacturer like Komptech strengthens our position in the industry and signifies the beginning of an exciting new chapter for us.
As we reflect on these milestones, it is clear that our success has been driven by our dedicated team, our loyal customers, and our commitment to providing the highest level of service and support. We’ve come a long way in 30 years, and we are excited for what the future holds.
